We replaced the standard transport in a clients 1000ZXL with the transport from a ZX-9 in order to reduce the wow and flutter in the 1000ZXL. The project was very successful and has created possibly the best of all Nakamichi decks.
The front of the unit remains unchanged

Separate power supply was mounted on rear panel without drilling any new holes in the panel.
Notice the direct drive coils behind the flywheel and the direct drive controller board mounted on the back of the transport . Also not the lack of the original capstain drive motor and OC08096C belt!
